Martin Smith is a former Ranger and Senior Ranger with Ealing Council who oversaw the day to day construction of Paradise Fields. On retirement he became Chair of The Friends of Horsenden Hill and is presently a trustee of the new charity Friends of Horsenden. He studied Ecology and Nature Conservation at Birkbeck College and is a keen all round naturalist with a particular interest in ornithology. Martin contributed to British Trust for Ornithology surveys until recently and carries out butterfly surveys for the United Kingdom Butterfly Monitoring Scheme. He also organises and leads regular nature walks on Horsenden.
