August 30 @ 19:00 - 21:00

£27.80

Join us for a guided safari through the Beaver-transformed Paradise Fields for a chance to see the Ealing Beaver Project Beavers. It is a unique opportunity to observe our reintroduced Beaver family and their behaviours with the unique insight from one of the project leaders.

Like most wildlife, there is never a guarantee that we will see the Beavers. Using adaptive strategies, we aim to balance the possibility of seeing beavers while minimising disturbing them.

Each safari will begin with an introduction and adapt to onsite conditions and current Beaver patterns. Some off-trail walking may be involved so we recommend you wear appropriate waterproof footwear. Your clothing should be of muted colours (greens, browns, greys, blacks), with no loud patterns or designs. Also, no deodorants, perfumes or colognes as Beavers have an acute sense of smell.

We request that all attendees behave appropriately. You will be required to stand still in silence for relatively long periods so portable camp chairs are permitted and advisable, particularly if you have physical restrictions making standing uncomfortable. Bring binoculars if you have them, though some will be provided to share.

Those not acting in the interests of the Beaver’s welfare will be asked to leave the site. Beavers are wild animals who are disturbed by human intervention and loud noises.

With Beavers being a native reintroduced species, the Ealing Beaver Project is excited to share responsible Beaver watching.

NB – Safaris are strictly over 16s.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Although a Beaver sighting is never guaranteed, we aim to maximise your chances of seeing the Beavers without disturbing them.

Wear wellies or sturdy waterproof footwear, and clothing suitable for the weather of muted colours (greens, browns, greys, blacks), with no loud patterns or designs. Also, no deodorants, perfumes or colognes as Beavers have an acute sense of smell and we want to remain undetected.

You will be standing still and silently for relatively long periods, portable camp chairs are permitted and advisable, particularly if you have physical restrictions making standing uncomfortable. Bring binoculars if you have them, though some will be provided to share.

Paradise Fields car park is free with no regulations and has disabled spaces. Westway Cross Retail Park car park enforces strict parking regulations. Please check the signs when parking. Ealing Wildlife Group are not responsible for any fines incurred for non-compliance with the parking regulations.

There are major roadworks on Greenford Road (A4127), the main access road to Paradise Field, causing severe traffic delays through to August. Please allow additional travel time if coming by road in a car or TFL bus.

Greenford Station is an 8-10-minute walk, served by the Central Line (West Ruislip branch) and Great Western Railway from West Ealing. Local buses E6, 92 and 105 use Rockware Ave/Greenford St (Stop JJ) and 395 uses Westway Cross Retail Park (Stop II). NB – Roadworks are causing delays for buses.

There is an official covered bike stand in the Westway Cross Retail Park car park, just across from the Paradise Fields car park and McDonald’s. It is located along the right-hand side outer wall of Pets at Home as you face the store, in the bottom corner.

There are no toilet facilities on site. The nearest to use are in McDonald’s close to the safari meeting point.

You can join the Ealing Beaver Project safari leaders at the entrance to the underpass on the Capital Ring pathway behind McDonald’s. The nearest postcode is UB6 0UW with the What3Words location of wacky.vibes.spider.

As attendees must remain still and quiet for long periods so there is no disturbance to cause stress or harm to the Beavers it is unsuitable for younger children to attend.

Tickets for those over 16 are £25.00, plus Eventbrite fees. Anyone aged 16-18 must have a paid ticket and be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian with a paid ticket.

The Ealing Beaver Project is a five-year project so funding is required to cover costs so the partners decided to charge for events as a fundraising effort. Your ticket of £25.00 does not include the Eventbrite fees.

Please request a refund up to 24 hours before your safari. Your refund request will allow tickets to be available for those on the waitlist to attend in your place. You will receive a refund for only the ticket cost, as Eventbrite fees are not refundable.
