SUMMARY:Free Family Ealing Beaver Project Guided Walk
DESCRIPTION:A guided tour of the Ealing Beaver Project site at Paradise Fields in urban Greenford\nYou’ll be guided around the site to discover the aims of the Ealing Beaver Project\, hear what our Beaver family have been getting up to since their release in October 2023\, see signs of feeding and the dams they have built\, and the positive biodiversity and ecological changes made to the site. \nPlease note it is unlikely that you will see the Beavers but you will see lots of their activity. \nWe request that all attendees behave appropriately. Those not acting in the interests of the Beaver’s welfare will be asked to leave the site. Beavers are wild animals that can easily be disturbed by human intervention and loud noises. \nWith Beavers being a keystone species called “ecosystems engineers”\, Ealing Beaver Project is excited to show you around the site and explore what is to come. \nWhere to meet?\nSearch on Google Maps for “Ealing Beaver Project – Walk and Safari meeting point” or follow this link . We meet at the underpass entrance to Paradise Fields inside Westway Cross Retail Park\, nearest park entrance next to McDonald’s \nFrequently Asked Questions (FAQs)\nWhere exactly is the meeting point? \nSearch on Google Maps for “Ealing Beaver Project – Walk and Safari meeting point” or follow this link.\nWe meet at the underpass entrance to Paradise Fields inside Westway Cross Retail Park\, nearest park entrance next to McDonald’s.\nWhat3Words location of wacky.vibes.spider. \nWill I see the Beavers? \nIt is unlikely you will see the Beavers as they are generally nocturnal. You will see lots of Beaver activity including signs of feeding and dam building\, and learn a lot about why the reintroduction of Beavers is so important for the environment today. \nWhat should I wear? \nWear wellies or sturdy waterproof footwear\, and clothing suitable for the weather or layers. As the walk leaves the path\, during and after wet weather the site is likely to be muddy. \nIs there free parking available? \nParadise Fields car park is free with no regulations and has disabled spaces. Westway Cross Retail Park car park enforces strict parking regulations. Please check the signs when parking. Ealing Wildlife Group are not responsible for any fines incurred for non-compliance with the parking regulations. \nWhat do I need to know about travelling to Paradise Fields? \nThere are major roadworks on Greenford Road (A4127)\, the main access road to Paradise Fields causing severe traffic delays. Please allow additional travel time if coming by road in a car or TFL bus. \nCan I get to Paradise Fields by public transport? \nGreenford Station is an 8-10-minute walk\, served by the Central Line (West Ruislip branch) and Great Western Railway from West Ealing. Local buses E6\, 92 and 105 use Rockware Ave/Greenford St (Stop JJ) and 395 uses Westway Cross Retail Park (Stop II). NB – Roadworks are causing delays for buses. \nI’d like to cycle to Paradise Fields\, can I park my bike? \nThere is an official covered bike stand in the Westway Cross Retail Park car park\, just across from the Paradise Fields car park and McDonald’s. It is located alongside the right-hand side outer wall of Pets at Home as you face the store\, in the bottom corner. \nCan children attend? \nWe welcome families to attend. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian holding a paid adult ticket. Please note that all attendees must remain on the paths unless instructed to do so by the Walk Leader and to keep noise to a minimum to avoid disturbing the Beavers. \nWhy are you charging for tickets? \nThe Ealing Beaver Project is a five-year project so funding will be required to cover costs over that time. The partners decided to charge for the guided tours as a fundraising effort. They deliberately set a low ticket cost for adults\, plus Eventbrite fees\, with under-18s attending for free. \nWhat are the ticket charges? \nEach adult over 18 wishing to attend must purchase an adult ticket at £10.00\, plus Eventbrite fees. All under-18s are free and don’t require a ticket. However\, those under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian with a paid adult ticket. \nWhat do I do I can’t attend the walk I booked? \nTo cancel please request a refund up to 24 hours before your walk. Only when a refund is requested can a ticket be made available to the waitlist for someone to attend in your place. You will receive a refund for only the ticket cost\, as Eventbrite fees are not refundable.

SUMMARY:Ealing Beaver Project Safari
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a guided safari through the Beaver-transformed Paradise Fields for a chance to see the Ealing Beaver Project Beavers.\nA unique opportunity to observe our reintroduced Beaver family and their behaviours with the unique insight from one of the project leaders. \nLike most wildlife\, there is never a guarantee that we will see the Beavers. Using adaptive strategies\, we aim to balance the possibility of seeing beavers while minimising disturbing them. \nEach safari will begin with an introduction and adapt to onsite conditions and current Beaver patterns. Some off-trail walking may be involved so we recommend you wear appropriate waterproof footwear. Your clothing should be of muted colours (greens\, browns\, greys\, blacks)\, with no loud patterns or designs. Also\, no deodorants\, perfumes or colognes as Beavers have an acute sense of smell. \nWe request that all attendees behave appropriately. You will be required to stand still in silence for relatively long periods so portable camp chairs are permitted and advisable\, particularly if you have physical restrictions making standing uncomfortable. Bring binoculars if you have them\, though some will be provided to share. \nThose not acting in the interests of the Beaver’s welfare will be asked to leave the site. Beavers are wild animals who are disturbed by human intervention and loud noises. \nWith Beavers being a native reintroduced species\, the Ealing Beaver Project is excited to share responsible Beaver watching. \nNB – Safaris are strictly over 16s. \nHeader image by Cathy Gilman\, Ealing Beaver Project Volunteer \nFrequently Asked Questions (FAQs)\nWhere exactly is the meeting point? \nSearch on Google Maps for “Ealing Beaver Project – Walk and Safari meeting point” or follow this link.\nWe meet at the underpass entrance to Paradise Fields inside Westway Cross Retail Park\, nearest park entrance next to McDonald’s.\nWhat3Words location of wacky.vibes.spider. \nWill I see the Beavers? \nAlthough a Beaver sighting is never guaranteed\, we aim to maximise your chances of seeing the Beavers without disturbing them. \nWhat should I wear? \nWear wellies or sturdy waterproof footwear\, and clothing suitable for the weather of muted colours (greens\, browns\, greys\, blacks)\, with no loud patterns or designs.
